Andrew Rosindell MP has always been a good friend and supporter of Gibraltar and its people. I asked him about Gibraltar having its own MP in the House of Commons, and he said: "It is not acceptable to me that the people of Gibraltar do not have their own voice in the House of Commons...it is time for a Gibraltarian voice, chosen by the Gibraltarian people to be their democratically elected representative." Recent pictures sent to Panorama, suggest works on the tunnel road is at last making some visible headway. Although, it has to be said, there are a number of small-construction sites along the length of the tunnel road and on its approaches, where building works are still currently underway and do not appear anywhere near completion stage. But it remains to be seen, literally, how works progress from here? Read more

Sometimes, people’s inflated egos make them forget the ever present “hemeroteca” which is there to remind everyone of what they would rather forget. We too have our own newspaper library and archives. So when the La Linea Mayor writes to complain about our land reclamation which according to him has caused chaos in their coasts; seemingly unawares that climate change is the one wreaking havoc in Spain through their greed of building on the shore lines; I thought it would be a good idea to remind him of the Algeciras reclamation some years back. I know for fact, that many people are concerned about corruption. Even how many millions of pounds are lost to corruption. Together Gibraltar during last year’s election campaign declared that in their estimation the. cost of corruption on the Gibraltar economy was between £59 million and £117 million. The Government is also concerned about corruption and has already made a cast iron commitment to do something about it within a very short period of time. Read more

The Gibraltar Regulatory Authority (the “GRA”) would like to remind former Limba customers that the “629” mobile number range will be withdrawn on 13th March 2020.
As explained in a Press Release dated 13th September 2019, this is happening to avoid problems that may be encountered by former Limba customers who have ported their Limba numbers to another mobile network operator (“629 Mobile Customers”), when callers from outside Gibraltar try to contact them. The Ministry of Equality has announced that it will be marking International Women’s Day 2020 with a Women in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) panel discussion. The event will take place on Tuesday 3rd March and feature a number of women who work in these fields locally. Read more
