As the summer season is now in full swing, the Ministry of Equality would like to remind the public of the different accessibility facilities available at its beaches.
Gibraltar is all the more inclusive thanks to all the beach improvements which have been introduced since 2012. Many people, who once were unable to enjoy the traditional family summer day out at the beach are now able to do so thanks to these improvements. This means that not only will people with mobility impairments be able to enjoy a swim at the beach, but also their families will have the peace of mind that their family member will be included in the fun. Sanctions-busting oil tanker arrested by Gibraltar

A sanctions-busting oil tanker has been arrested in British Gibraltar Territorial Waters by military and enforcement agencies from Gibraltar and the UK.
The vessel, the Panamanian-flagged Grace 1, was acting in breach of European Union sanctions against Syria, said Gibraltar official sources. It is alleged to have been loaded in Iran.
In a major surveillance operation, the oil tanker was shadowed until it entered British waters off Gibraltar before elite military forces from the Royal Marines took action, in support of Gibraltar Port and Law Enforcement agencies. Read more

Is there light at the end of the multi-million pound airport tunnel?
Entangled in all kinds of problems over many years, from a major legal battle and row with Spanish contractors, to the actual termination by the previous government of the tunnel contract in 2011, there is now renewed expectation that by the beginning of next year, there will be more than hope that the tunnel and associated roadworks will have finally reach completion.
But there must be caution at all times with this troublesome project.
After a 5-year yawn, it was in 2016 when the new government and the OHL contractor reached an agreement which led to the paralysed works being revived - and 'November 2018' pencilled in as the completion date. But nothing happened. Read more
