During this time of the year, millions of migratory birds leave Europe, flying to their wintering places in the south. There was a time in Gibraltar, during the period in office of the GSD, when it was normal to see information in the press about the estimated cost of official projects or the proposed investment in infrastructure by the Gibraltar Government. Questions were answered in parliament and in general terms the media had access to information and the possibility of printing stories which could be openly critical or unsympathetic of the administration’s management of public affairs. The GSLP Liberals held their public meeting Tuesday evening at the John Macintosh Theatre where they announced their plans for the future if they are to again get elected into Government as a result of this upcoming general election.
The meeting gave the caretaker Ministers the opportunity to speak their views, talk about what they have done in the last 8 years and also express their appreciation for former Liberal Minister of Health, Care & Justice, Neil Costa, to be replaced by Vijay Daryanani. Read more

It’s so easy to forget. Eight years ago, we had highly polluting power stations, no sewage treatment plant anywhere on the horizon, no recycling of paper, cardboard or glass, monkeys all over the place, no large green areas in the city centre and some of our wildlife on the point of disappearing. The GSD yesterday held a press conference discussing some of their policies regarding Quality of Life, a subject which will be a key focal point for the GSD and their manifesto, which is expected to be released later this week.
They have released a leaflet entitled, ‘Pledge 1’ which contains a little bit of information on the goals that the GSD have in regards to Gibraltar’s Quality of Life. Read more
