There was not one, but two, power cuts yesterday.
Shortly after, an outage caused loss of power to parts of the city centre.
A fault in the High Voltage System was identified by an electrical protection relay situated in Orange Bastion Distribution Centre. The investigation that followed narrowed the fault to the protection relay itself. It was nonetheless necessary to check the integrity of the associated High Voltage cables and to reconfigure the High Voltage network before the power could be restored safely. Read more

Gloria Ophar-George, from global risk and compliance training provider IT Governance, will be in Gibraltar this week to deliver two courses on Data Protection.
The “GDPR Responsibilities – The Basics” course, hosted by Isolas LLP, takes place on Tuesday 9th April and will be followed by the 2-day “Certified Data Protection Officer” Upgrade course at Bleak House on Wednesday and Thursday. Read more

Political greatness is not about the amount of votes or popular support one manages to garner in elections, but more about what one is capable of doing with the power one is trusted with. The plenary of the European Parliament on Thursday approved the Regulation to provide visa free access for British Citizens into the European Union in the case of a no deal Brexit. This measure includes British Citizens from Gibraltar. Read more

Rhythmic gymnasts Lili Murphy, Kylie Gavizio & Mie Alvarez competed in the National Sports Centre in Cardiff, Wales in the Zone B qualification competition for British Championships.
The girls once again did themselves and Gibraltar proud with Lili Murphy placing first on her Freehand , 4th with her hoop routine and 3rd overall . Read more

A team of senior officials from the United Kingdom has been in Gibraltar this week in order to continue the close cooperation between the UK and Gibraltar Governments as we prepare to leave the European Union.
