A GHA Drive-Through Testing facility has been given approval to go-ahead at Rooke. This temporary facility is planned to be operational within a few days.
The Government has authorised that part of the site be dedicated to the provision of a “drive-through” facility for the GHA where patients can be tested for Coronavirus/COVID-19. It is also anticipated that blood tests may be taken in the same way for those invited to take them up in the near future. Read more

Yesterday was Commonwealth Day. The Deputy Chief Minister Dr Joseph Garcia, who is the minister for relations with the Commonwealth, said:“The message this CommonwealthDay has to be that as one door has closed, other doors have opened for Gibraltar. We intend to take full advantage of the opportunities that this will offer.”
This was the first Commonwealth Day with Gibraltar outside the European Union. In this context, said Dr Garcia, it is perfectly logical that we should look to increase our level of engagement with the Commonwealth and its institutions going forward. Read more

Vijay Daryanani has catapulted from Main Street to the mainstream of ministerial responsibility. Tourism is one of his portfolios - and he is well aware that the coronavirus is bound to provide a challenge, but he says he is ready to take it on.

Reliable sources, have informed Panorama that the Gibraltar Government proposes to introduce wide ranging surveillance legislation, also known as ‘investigatory powers legislation’ which is thought, will equip the police to more effectively tackle serious enforcement issues, like organised crime, drugs but also extend surveillance powers to security services!
This is not a new story by any means. In fact, the relevant legislation was prepared and proposed in Parliament six years ago. For some unknown reason it was shelved by the Government. Read more
