The Government has announced the sale of the flats at Bob Peliza Mews, the second estate in this phase of the affordable housing scheme. Bob Peliza Mews will be located on the North Mole, on part of the site of the old electricity generating station. Now that the new North Mole Power Station is established, the old power station can be decommissioned and demolished at the end of this year. This will provide the land for the construction of this new housing estate which is envisaged to commence during the first half of 2020. Read more

The last vestige of my childhood years in Gibraltar and for many others too, is soon to disappear from where it has stood since 1922. The Cross of Sacrifice, designed by Sir Reginald Bloomfield in 1917 to emphasize the military character of the cemetery, was originally located within North Front Cemetery. It was rebuilt and relocated after World War 11 in an area west of the North Front Cemetery. Read more

Miss Gibraltar 2019 will certainly go down as one of the most innovative ever. To kick off the show, I actually thought I had left my Spotify app on as all the tracks played were from my own personal playlist. Ranging from local and iconic band Seven Sins, Foo Fighters, Metallica, Nirvana and others, all the contestants were dressed similar to the look from the Maleficent movie. The contestants looked fantastic and was certainly a great start to the show. Read more

A future GSD Government will make public the full terms of the deals entered into by the current GSLP/Liberal Government over the Victoria Keys development. We will also review the arrangements over the development and, if there is any aspect of it that is not in the public interest, a GSD Government would seek to reopen the commercial arrangements or development scheme, the GSD says.
