The Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Orchestra received a standing ovation from the people of Gibraltar for their performance at the Gibraltar International Jazz Festival.
The superb 19-part band treated their audience including Deputy Chief Minister, Minister of Culture, Media & Sport and The Governor to a two-hour spectacular set of jazz classics at St Michael’s Cave. Read more

The position of the Government of Gibraltar has always been that the annual UN Consensus decision is contradictory and unacceptable. We have never supported it.
A Gibraltar Government statement adds: "It does not make sense for the United Kingdom to agree a Consensus wording that makes a reference to the 1984 Brussels Agreement, on the one hand, and then be committed at the same time to no discussion or negotiation of our sovereignty. Read more

In reply to Government the GSD have said that it is staggering that the Government shouldmake the claim that they are tackling the issues of parking and transport infrastructure, the parking situation has never been worse than under this Government and our roads and pavements have never been in poorer condition. The latest argument to discredit the Government’s car parking projects put forward by the Opposition is complete nonsense. The notion that any Government should implement its policies in line with the views of the Opposition, just in case that future Opposition ever gets into Government, is unheard of in parliamentary democracies and shows just how much the GSD have to learn. Domestic Violence is a serious and growing social problem...we are quite aware of this social problem (along with others), as on many occasion we have published special reports, interviews and investigations surrounding this issue. A social problem we have expressed our own concerns about, particularly our opinion that not enough was or is being done to effectively tackle it!

The Opposition parties have jumped the gun in their misinformed criticism of the Government over the creation of new parking spaces under the new school projects.
