British Prime Minister Theresa May has held meeting with Gibraltar’s Chief Minister Fabian Picardo and Depty Chief Minister Dr Joseph Garcia at a meeting in London. They left for London yesteday and return today.
This has the makings of an unscheduled meeting that arose at the last minute to discuss the detained Iranian oil tanker Grace 1. Read more

Although the Chief Minister has been giving the impression that he is empowered to take the action regarding the Iranian oil tanker, PANORAMA can reveal today that he acted with the consent of the Governor. Clearly, Britain is responsible constitutionally for defence and foreign affairs, and arresting a foreign ship acting in the alleged circumstances of the oil tanker must impinge on defence and foreign affairs, which are the responsibility of the Governor within the Gibraltar Constitution.

The number of cruise liners calling into Gibraltar has dropped significantly this year in comparison to last year. There is a worrying drop of around 30% in cruise passenger visis shown on the Port Authority website. Fewer tourists is undermining the viability of small businesses, says the GSD. Read more
