The airport terminal - Carmen Gomez Diary
This, like many other intentions, or pretentions, did not take place; something which did not surprise many of us. The idea did not materialise because you would have to be a moron not to realise what this was leading to i.e. an attempt at the joint use of the airport.
But then recognising they were getting nowhere fast with this at the time, they then later decided, so we heard, to sell off the land that had been adjudicated for this very use.
The latest though is that since they are running around in circles trying to put one over us, it seems that they suddenly have the “friolera” of six million Euros to spend on said project, because by Jove, Brexit has them salivating at the mouth!
We are also told that “Informally” talks that have been held in Madrid in their interminable search for a way to get a foot through the door, have once again raked up the joint use of the airport; note; which they consider was built on Spanish territory.
No doubt during this informal chat, they have been fed interesting tit bits by the foreign office who in its day, warned of the risk of constructing of an airstrip over a zone that according to them, did not enter into the terms of the Treaty of Utrecht.
