It has now been over four months since Morrisons employees who are members of Unite the Union Gibraltar commenced strike action on January 30th 2023 over a pay dispute. In what started out as a 24-hour strike, the strike has now marked over 100 days, and has developed into the longest continuous strike action by Unite in Gibraltar. Read more

An Argentine Air Force plane has reportedly been banned from the Royal International Air Tattoo after sensitivities were raised about its name, “Islas Malvinas”. This move will be understood in Gibraltar given the close affinity between the Rock and the Falkland Islands. Read more

Next Saturday, the King’s official birthday will be marked in London by the spectacular Trooping of the Colour parade in London, with over 1400 soldiers taking part, 200 horses and 400 musicians. This year the Welsh Guards will have the honour of trooping the colour and for the first time in 30 years, all five regiments of Foot Guards of the Household Division of the Army will be in attendance.
