A firm indication that Gibraltar is on the way out from the European Union emerged in the Gibraltar Parliament yesterday when the Deputy Chief Minister moved a Bill to repeal our European Communities Act on the day the United Kingdom and Gibraltar leave the European Union. Read more

UK Ministers met with Ministers from the Government of Gibraltar at the eighth Joint Ministerial Council (Gibraltar EU Negotiations) in London, where they discussed preparations for our exit from the EU, reached an agreement on gambling and explored ways to deepen cooperation across a range of areas including environment and transport. The Commons agreed last night to accept the Withdrawal Agreement, if the backstop is replaced with an alternative. It followed an amendment which was won by the Government with 317 voting in favour and 301 against.

As the Sofi TV storm subsides, with everyone blaming everyone else for loss of channels, Gibtelecom says they are a private company owned by Government through the Gibraltar Savings Bank.
Sofi, which itself is owned by Gibtelecom, say they are a private company and refuse to say how much they have spent on promotion. Read more

Unite the Union says it would like to congratulate all those agency workers who have been promised permanent employment through Gibraltar Development Corporation (GDC).
Having said this Unite has already received a large number of concerns as a result of the announcement. Read more
