In a first special report last week, Panorama highlighted that the pay grades of many senior officials stood well above even ministerial salary levels.

But those public sector pay ranking

s did not include many other lower officials, further down the scale, whose basic salaries are often boosted above other grades when overtime and allowances have been factored in. In this second special report we provide a flavour of some of those allowances.
