GIBRALTAR TREATY NEGOTIATIONS RESUME TODAY

THE EUROPEAN UNION AND THE UNITED KINGDOM, TOGETHER WITH GIBRALTAR, RESUME TREATY NEGOTIATIONS IN LONDON TODAY AND TOMORROW. THIS IS THE FIFTEENTH ROUND OF A NEGOTIATING PROCESS THAT COMMENCED BACK IN OCTOBER 2021.

FORMAL
These formal negotiations follow a meeting of representatives of the governments of Gibraltar, the United Kingdom and Spain in Malaga on Monday of last week. The only press statement after that meeting came from the government here but even that only set out the fact of the meeting and confirmed the presence there of the Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Minister and Attorney General. But the message was clear that the process had been kickstarted once more after the lengthy gap prompted by the Spanish general election.
