GSD LEADERSHIP PROCESS STARTS TODAY

The GSD have not won a general election since 2007. The party will elect a new leader between today and tomorrow through an electoral system which does not provide for

one member one vote. However, this appears to be the mechanism in effect for some years now which has been utilised for other leadership elections in the past.
OUTCOME
The procedure is that the Executive Committee will vote tonight and that this will be
weighted to count towards 40% of the outcome. The direct vote of ordinary members will
make up the remaining 60%.
