‘Looking forward to’

When you`re small, you dream of things to come; dates like one`s birthday, or holidays, or Christmas and the fun of putting up the tree with its colourful baubles. 

Later as a youngster you dream of relationships; of goals you want to achieve; of practising hard to win the coming championship. As an adult you stretch your birthday as much as possible, and look forward to long weekends, and save up for that special holiday of a lifetime. Then life takes over, and suddenly you look around and wonder where the years have gone. As Spring quickly turns to Summer, and Summer to Autumn, you realize that Winter is round the corner and you haven’t yet finished the refurbishment you intended doing at home. Oh well there`s always tomorrow. Friends have come and gone,
