The impact to Gibraltians if IVF donors lose the right to anonymity

Previously when IVF wasn’t anonymous the impact was sperm donation dried up and Gibraltarians couldn’t get assistance to start a family.


Currently egg and sperm donation in Spain is anonymous. Patients may not know personal information about their donor and vice versa. For over 20 years there are open gamete donation programs running in countries like America, Sweden, Austria, Australia and New Zealand. There are new tendencies to abolish anonymity and arguments in support of anonymity too.
