Spain will not give up its claim on Sovereignty; and Gibraltar will never give up its stance
A game can be lost or won through concession. Our governments along the years have never been willing to make any concessions to our neighbours, although the UK has on more than one occasion. The trouble with doing that is that they have never had positive results for us. Stalemate checkmate being impossible to achieve. The king cannot move as he has no safe squares. In fact a Stalemate happens when there are no legal moves, just like Checkmate. The only difference being that since the king isn’t threatened, that the attacker can’t claim a win and the game is declared a Draw. This is what most probably will be the outcome of our expected treaty. As much as the chess pieces each play a completely different role in the game, in this the ancient game that mimics life.
