Gibraltarians welcome their new King

The British Monarchy, which is one of the oldest institutions on the planet, showed nonetheless that it can move at considerable speed in the transition from one Sovereign to another.

It is fair to say that loyal subjects everywhere, including those in Gibraltar, practically mourned their Queen and welcomed their new King at the same time.
ACCESSION
The new King took over immediately upon the passing of Queen Elizabeth II following the well worn maxim of “the Queen is dead - Long Live the King”.
