Appreciation - My friendship with Joe Garcia

My friendship with Joe Garcia began in the mid-seventies when I used Medsun, Joe’s Company, for my printing and for my promotional material in my travel business.

I did not envisage that our friendship would become much more when I stood for election in 1976 with the Gibraltar Democratic Movement. At the time Joe was the Editor of the Gibraltar Post which was staunchly AACR but there wasn’t any conflict politically in our relationship, the GDM policy was very Gibraltarian in sentiment. However, this is an appreciation of Joe and I only mention The GDM and the AACR because by 1978 I had left the GSLP which had been born earlier that year. Joe’s relationship with Sir Joshua was so close that he was instrumental in my joining the AACR.
