The skies in Gibraltar and Spain turned a dark orange yesterday as a Saharan dust storm occurred.
With the rain came orange sand and mud that filled the streets of the Rock.
The storm is known as calima, with the word originating from the Spanish word for “haze”. In this case the haze is a layer of dust and sand.
