Dr Cassaglia returns to his substantive post in the GHA
This follows the outcome of a full investigation, a number of legal proceedings, the independent disciplinary board by the GHA and the fact that there are no further pending legal actions on the matter.
It will be recalled that in January a new post of GHA Director General was introduced. This new post carries the responsibilities of Chief Executive and is supported by a team of executive directors, one of which is the Medical Director. Dr Cassaglia will, therefore, be part of this supporting team whilst continuing to work as a consultant paediatrician as he also did previously.
