GibSams host Awareness Event to launch September Suicide Prevention Month

The month of September is Suicide Prevention Month, and countries all over the world are hosting different events to help raise awareness of suicide and mental health.


Here on the Rock, charities and organisations are doing their bit to show how important raising awareness of this subject can be.
GibSams are a local charity registered with the Gibraltar Charities Commission. Their trained volunteers operate a confidential freephone helpline and chat service from 6 pm to midnight every day of the year. To mark the start of September, the charity organised an awareness event at the Piazza on Wednesday. Other charities and organisations were also present at the event; including Clubhouse Gibraltar, Walking Together support group, Childline and the GHA Mental Health Team.
