Three salient points about Main Street
What cannot be productive is if we keep crying wolf for years on end and doing nothing about a worsening situation, so it is to be hoped that the Federation get the support it requires for its BID project.
And the Chamber has done well to publicise the facts and figures about cruise ships because other interested parties just keep saying one thing or the other, depending on what suits them.
The Chamber has produced actual figures that show conclusively that Gibraltar is no longer the top cruise port when compared with nearby ports. And we have been lagging behind for the last 10 years - but have we done anything to try and correct the trend?
And we cannot blame the operators etc because if others can continue to attract more cruise ships than us, well it can only mean what what we are doing is not good enough.
