It seems the fast pace of construction works presently affecting most of Gibraltar knows no bounds and little consideration for living healthy trees, a whole row of them in fact, that got in the way of the plant digger during the late evening on Saturday or early morning Sunday when many people were not observing and a good time to uproot at least eight trees that were health living specimens of what greenery is all about and should be conserved.
The construction programme obviously had other ideas and did not take into account these trees could have been re-planted elsewhere.
Instead the demolition job took preference, flattening the building and destroying the trees to a premature rubbish dump somewhere.
However, not before we were able to obtain photos of where these healthy looking trees looked like just hours before the following morning, the open space and area left after the demolition people had done what they do best - destroy!
