Childline aims to raise funds and awareness
They are all offered a presentation which outlines Childline’s main services. These presentations are delivered by a combination of the Childline team and our wonderful volunteers. During Blue Week, the schools, offices and businesses are asked to choose one particular day when everyone is encouraged to wear something blue - and to make a donation to Childline.
As well as Blue Day, we encourage everyone’s participation in the #8008 Challenge in which individuals, groups, schools and businesses create an image of #8008 in an imaginative way as possible, they say. These images are then uploaded onto Childline’s Facebook page for everyone to enjoy.
Also, during Blue Week, Moorish Castle is illuminated in Childline Blue.
This year, the week culminates in what is hoped will become the Annual Childline Dinner.
Chairperson of Childline Gibraltar, Annie Green, said ‘Blue Week is one of the most important weeks of the year for Childline. It gives us an opportunity to speak directly to Gibraltar’s young people and to engage with the local community and businesses.’
