In the team we also have a Dance Vocational Student Anne Marie Reading who see’s the value of the event to further her training .’ It is quite a numerous team this year so we expect approx 60 people travelling to Pula this summer. For G.I.D.A. the excitement has begun,“ said G.I.D.A. President Anne Marie Gomez.
G.I.D.A. was recognized by the Government of Gibraltar over six years ago and since then the Association has worked solidly towards giving all Gibraltarian dancers and choreographers, the chance of competing at International and World Events. G.I.D.A. dancers, coaches and choreographers are known for their hard work, professionalism and successful results at I.D.F. Competitions. G.I.D.A. and the I.D.F. always have the bettering of dancers standards at heart and are constantly analyzing ways of how International Competitions can be improved to achieve this, they said.
'Standards raise every year and the experience is such that this year we have local graduates, now in work placements, rejoining the team. This a reflection of the great experiences lived at the I.D.F. that our adults dancers keep wanting to return. The excitement lived at I.D.F. events is quite unequalled and the friendships and growing of individuals as dancers and people equally so' said G.I.D.A. President Anne Marie Gomez . 'Competition‘s are usually rotated amongst member nations so we get a chance to visit different countries. In 2020 I.D.F. Worlds will be held in Spain so we expect a big Gibraltar Team on this occasion,“ she added.
