Where on earth are the Police/Fire and Rescue Services?
Only buy fireworks that conform with the B.S.7114 standard”. (???)
But I thought it was “illegal to cast off Fireworks in any street…..”!!!
Whilst first saying “it is illegal to cast off Fireworks……” there is a list of 11 instructions, on how to “cast off” conforming fireworks SAFELY!!!???
Under the Explosives Act the department “also issues permits with conditions for the holding of fireworks displays by competent pyrotechnic experts”!!!
So do all those people who buy fireworks/petardos and cast them off two weeks to the run up to Christmas, also National Day, and after etc. etc. etc. get permits???
Off they go to Spain (as the “conforming fireworks” I believe are not usually on sale until a day before Christmas) to buy the ”illegal” fireworks/petardos for the kids and smuggle them into Gibraltar. What a bad example to the children, without a thought of the dangers for all and sundry young and old, who have to suffer these dangerous shooting noisy things from the balconies of most of the estates and streets, quite apart from the horrendous disruption caused to pets DAY AND NIGHT!!!
Gibraltar is DODGE CITY without the guns (petardos more like)!
What an unbearable and out of control place this is becoming.
The rule of law???
No such thing, everyone does what they like.
Where on earth are the Police/Fire and Rescue Services?
Can people not be satisfied with the organized display??? What a selfish and spoilt society this is - more, more and more.
Surely it only takes one person to be made an example of with a hefty fine to stop this disgusting incessant fireworks/petardos lark by far from “COMPETENT PYROTECHNIC EXPERTS”!
Moronic - and so are the muddled rules!
Yours faithfully
