IT’S VOTE YES OR VOTE NO FOR ABORTION

This is a sensitive issue, the Vote No campaigners were saying yesterday to Save the Babies, and vote No to abortion. Lord Frost was asked: I'd like to change the focus of the discussion to Gibraltar for a few moments. Clearly, last year, the framework for a new treaty was agreed. When he gave some evidence in the House of Lords in January, the Chief Minister thought that negotiations could be completed within six months, yet the European Commission hasn't actually sought approval for its own negotiating position yet. Following on from last week’s Government statement regarding the expected tourism from the UK this summer, the Minister for Tourism, Vijay Daryanani, has met with the Chamber of Commerce, the Federation of Small Businesses and the Hotel Association to explain the Government’s vision for tourism in Gibraltar this year and the future in general. The PANORAMA newspaper yesterday won a major victory for freedom of speech. In one of the important judgments in recent years, the Supreme Court agreed with PANORAMA that the right to jury trial in defamation cases in Gibraltar continues to be available to litigants. Read more
