In 2018 the GFSB commissioned a study of Main Street and its surrounding area to ascertain if there was anything that could be done to help businesses. This was an important exercise to know where the high street was and where it could go. The Main Street Review highlighted a number of things that could be done to improve the whole area for both locals and tourists. The best mechanism for this type of change was with the forming of a Business Improvement District (BID) which have proved very successful in the UK and USA. Read more

Gibraltar is now looking to revolutionise its stance on medicinal cannabis, as last month the government published a bill to regulate the supply, production, importing and exporting of cannabis to treat health conditions.
The government is keen to support the private sector is establishing a regulatory framework, which will allow the medicinal cannabis industry to grow.
The proposed bill is designed to enable the creation of an effectively new industry, that will be regulated in compliance with the United Nations’ Single Convention on Narcotic Drugs, which was adopted in 1961. Read more

Carmen Gomez has been the PANORAMA’s well-known columnist for almost a decade, and in 1970 was the 8th person to win the title of Miss Gibraltar.
The 72-year-old has led an extremely interesting life, and has been involved in the acting industry for over 25 years, featuring in Dr. Watson and the Darkwater Hall Mystery (1974), Doctor Who (1963) and The Aphrodite Inheritance (1979). She has also taken part in many theatre shows locally and in England. Read more
