The long lost Montagu Sea-Bathing Pavilion plaque, missing since 1988, has finally been restored and placed on the exterior façade of the Montagu entrance. Originally, the plaque stood within the entrance in the main reception area.
The Montagu Sea Bathing Pavilion was constructed in 1929/30 and inaugurated by the then Governor, Alexander Godley on the 15th May 1930. The pavilion consisted of a main entrance hall leading to separate changing rooms for men and women and divided into 100 cubicles per wing. Read more

Should there not be an inquiry into GBC?
Being infatuated with anything can be a dangerous thing, and when you happen to be the Chief Minister infatuated with GBC, could even cost him his seat in Parliament, because he is incapable of recognising the situation he is facing especially at a time when his government is working from a deficit - and he is as pleased as Punch forking out over £14 million for GBC for the little they produce. Members of the Royal Navy who are currently serving in Gibraltar gathered in the Trafalgar Cemetery to commemorate the Battle of Trafalgar.
The service was attended by Commander British Forces, Commodore Steve Dainton, the Governor, Vice Admiral Sir David Steel, and the Deputy Chief Minister, Dr Joseph Garcia. Read more

The Mayor, Mr Christian Santos, hosted an evening reception for the ‘Running 4 Reilly’ team. This group of family and friends run the London Royal Parks Half Marathon to raise funds for the Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity. The team is named after Reilly Roper, a five-year-old who is thankfully recovering from leukaemia having received treatment at Great Ormond Street Hospital. Read more

Following the arrival in Gibraltar of an additional 8,000 doses of the Pfizer BioNtech vaccines last week, the programme to vaccinate young people in Gibraltar who wanted to take up the offer of a COVID-19 vaccine has commenced. Originally planned for after the mid-term break, the early delivery of vaccines from the UK to Gibraltar meant that the team from the GHA which included nurses from ERS were able to bring forward the planned vaccination programme for young people by 2-3 weeks, allowing us to give protection to these young people and their families sooner than anticipated.
