The limbo of Gibrexit is haunting the Rock around its vulnerable chokepoint with scare tactics reminiscent of those used by the Spanish Dictator, General Fransisco Franco. The Gibraltar Catering Association have held an emergency meeting following Government’s press release dated 12th November 2021 urging ‘the public to be cautious and reduce mixing’ and advising the cancellation of Government parties.
Members have reported cancellation of parties across the industry which has caused concern that a vital Xmas period will once again be decimated.
The catering industry has endured a huge downturn in business during the Covid pandemic with many businesses still struggling and catching up on bills whilst accruing more and more debt. Read more

The other evening Some of us had been to a mass at St. Theresa`s and had parked our cars in the big car park close to it. When we got back inside, it was impossible to get your receipt acknowledged by the machine at hand, which naturally gave the impression that we did not know what we were doing. Read more

The Governor, vice admiral Sir David Steel, visited PANORAMA yesterday in our historic premises and was welcomed by our Editor Joe Garcia.
At the premises in Irish Town, newspapers have been printed and published since the 1800s, from the pre-war days of El Anunciador onto the post-war Gibraltar Post and Panorama...the tradition having continued since the 1800s. Read more

Yesterday saw a demonstration organised by the Community Care Action Group. Police estimated that approximately 100 people attended the march.
Community Care Action Group Chairman and demonstration organiser Mr Joseph Capurro said that the protest’s aims were ‘to get the Government to look at the Community Officer Allowance, which is under the Community Care, and also to get the pensions reviewed as they have promised’. He stressed that the GSLP/Liberals had promised equalise the state pensions of men and women at the age of 60 in three successive electoral manifestoes. However, he added, ‘we’re still waiting’. HMS Cutlass, has arrived in Gibraltar, and will be based in HM Naval Base Gibraltar and used to patrol British Gibraltar Territorial Waters, support British exercises and operations in the area and will keep close watch over Gibraltar’s shores.
In the meantime, CUTLASS will be put through her paces whilst sailing under the Blue Ensign. Read more

The Gibraltar FA has yet to publish audited financial statements despite repeated calls from the public for the national association to come clean with its bookkeeping, following acceptance into the UEFA family over eight years ago. The last we heard, a leaked copy of an Audit Findings Report presented by the international firm, Baker Tilly, exposed ‘significant deficiencies in internal control’. Read more
