Water was largely restored to Gibraltar over the weekend following an all out effort by the different departments and agencies involved. The operation to replace and divert the broken pipe, originally given as one which would take five days, was finally completed in two. Read more

HMGoG has made arrangements for the continued importation of non-potable water for the coming days in order to alleviate the pressure from the potable water system. This non-potable water can also be used for watering plants. Read more

Following a meeting of the Strategic Coordinating Group dealing with water disruption that met yesterday, the Government has been advised that water supply to the affected areas in Gibraltar, namely the lower south district is unlikely to return before midday today. Read more

Her Majesty’s Government of Gibraltar is pleased to announce that following the successful repair works to the salt water pipe supplying the Governors Cottage Reverse Osmosis Plant, the plant is now producing potable water. This water will, in the first instance, replenish stock levels at the AquaGib reservoirs.

The Director of Public Health, Dr Helen Carter, has advised that mineral water with sodium levels over 200mg per litre and/or sulphate levels over 250mg per litre, is not recommended for mixing with instant formula feeds. Read more
