Liquefied Natural Gas, better known as LNG, has long been regarded as the fuel of the future. Given Gibraltar’s unique location at the crossroads between the Mediterranean and the Atlantic, it is ideally placed to take advantage of this developing industry. Moreover, the oil pollution which followed the collision of the OS35 with the Adam LNG will serve as a timely reminder of the need to move further away from diesel to other less polluting fuels. The Captain of the Port has received an indicative schedule from the salvors for the salvage and wreck removal of the OS 35. This includes an indicative timeline for the removal of the wreck and its contents.
The provision of this plan follows the issuing of a Wreck Removal Notice to the vessel’s owners by the Captain of the Port, under the provisions of Part VIIIA of the Merchant Shipping Act. Read more

The USS Florida arrived in Gibraltar yesterday, as foreshadowed in the Spanish press, to the usual chorus of complaints from very much the usual suspects. It is a disgrace that many sectors in Spain, including some in the Government, are content to stir up trouble in this way when they should all know better. Read more

The Gibraltar Government has extended the closing date for citizens to register their occupation of property in Gibraltar as required under the Register of Occupation Act 2021 to the 31st October 2022.
