The Gibraltar Philharmonic Society is delighted to present the New Year’s Concerts featuring the well-known orchestra, The European Sinfonietta, conducted by the eminent James Ham. The concerts are organised on behalf of the Ministry of Culture and Ministry of Education and will take place at the John Mackintosh Hall Theatre on 7 January 2020. The first one will be an Orchestral Concert for children at 5.30pm, followed by an adult concert at 8.30pm. Read more

The Minister for Health & Care, the Hon Paul Balban, has officially opened the grotto at Mount Alvernia. The grotto is an annual favourite, enjoyed by residents, families and friends alike and it is the culmination of a year’s work carried out by the residents during their daily sessions with the Activities Team. These activities promote physical skills many of which have been newly-acquired in older age and which are greatly therapeutic to the residents of Mount Alvernia. Read more

The Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics held their Annual Christmas Dinner for Special Olympics Athletes at the Manchester United Supporters Social Club.
Attending the dinner were Gibraltar’s Special Olympics Athletes, Coaches and Committee members together with Sponsors, Patrons, Committee members and Liaison Officers of the Law Enforcement Torch Run. A good time of Christmas Festive spirit was enjoyed by all attending, aided by the traditional Christmas Crackers and Party Poppers. At the end of the dinner, the LETRSO Sponsors and Patrons presented the Special Olympics Athletes with several LETRSO gifts together with a £10 gift voucher and a box of ‘Heroes’ chocolates. The Government has filed a criminal complaint against four leaders of the Spanish ultra right-wing political party “VOX”, pursuant to Article 510 of the Spanish Penal Code which deals with offences of incitement to hatred. Read more
