The Minister for Justice and Equality has started the consultation process in relation to Parental Alienation which was announced last November in connection with International Men’s Day.
The process has commenced with the first meeting yesterday with Mr David Gallardo who was also representing the group Forgotten Fathers. Read more

Unite, the UK and Ireland’s largest union, has accused the Ministry of Defence of acting with bad faith during pay negotiations.
The MoD had tabled a pay offer of 11.5 per cent over three years to all civilian staff. While the offer initially appeared generous, the detail was problematic, as it would have resulted in low paid staff being worse off, due to proposed cuts in overtime payments and allowances. Read more

The Sephardi Chief Rabbi of Israel, Rabbi Yitzchak Yosef, has been visiting the Gibraltar Jewish Community in the last few days.
His visit coincides with the completion of a seven and a half year learning cycle of the Talmud, which has been completed by a number of members of the Community. Similar events have taken place in London, New York, Jerusalem and many other parts of the world. Read more

It’s been quite a muddled, questionable and in parts, unconvincing week in local Brexit politics.
Local leading figures, have not only turned heads, but confused people even more. Leading lights like the Chief Minister, the Governor, the Mayor of La Linea, our friend Sr Jose Margallo, the Deputy Chief Minister, not to be left out, even ‘10 Downing St’ also played its part. The Gibraltar Tourist Board has released its new generic consumer and trade advertising campaign themed ‘Gibraltar - Time to be enlightened’.
The slogan forms part of a new identifying campaign logo, which evolves the previous cultural themes explored by the highly successful ‘Year of Culture’ campaign. Read more

Gibraltar Tourist Board (GTB) is participating at the 40th edition of FITUR, the international tourism trade fair, in Madrid, Spain to January 26.
FITUR is one of the leading meeting points for the tourism industry globally. In 2019 10,487 exhibiting companies from 165countries/regions, 142,642 trade participants, 110,848 consumers and over 8,000 journalists took part. Read more

*Two other vessels rammed Customs boatand attacked the officers
In the early hours of yesterday morning whilst carrying out a routine patrol of BGTW, Officers from HM Customs Marine Section engaged in a chase of a suspect vessel loaded with tobacco. 1,500 cartons of cigarettes were seized and a small speedboat.
When Customs Officers confiscated and boarded the small speedboat, two other vessels rammed it and attacked the Officers. The occupants on the boats escaped into Spain. Read more
