Local anglers take part in competition in Portugal

Earlier this month, four top surfcasting anglers of the Gibraltar Fishing Club took part in the 1st Pair’s International Open Competition organised by the local Portuguese club at Faro.


The competition was a hook and release alive and a total of 104 pairs participated in the event. Six kilometres of Faro’s beach had to be used to accommodate so many anglers.
There were pairs from Wales, France, Spain with the majority made up by locals from different clubs. The beach was divided into five sections all as per the world federation for sea angler’s rules and regulations.
