Spain has made an about turn in the EU negotiations over Gibraltar, in that at EU-level she had gone along with the agreement that it would be Spanish agents who would exercise control at the frontier and ports.
The Spanish have now agreed that such controls will be exercised by Frontex guards, which is what the UK and Gibraltar had wanted.
Arriving in Brussels for EU talks, the Spanish state secretary for EU general affairs Juan Gonzalez Barba confirmed, when questioned by the Press, that Spain would request the assistance of Frontex, which is what the UK and Gibraltar had been insisting on.
