Royal Navy Auxiliary Ship EDDYSTONE entered Gibraltar Harbour at 10am yesterday under the usual Royal Navy Gibraltar Squadron, RGP and GDP patrol boat escorts, and tug boats bringing her alongside the submarine Z Berth on the lee side of the South Mole in the Admiralty Harbour.
The other vessel is the Point class sealift ship, which is one of four which while operated by a private company, are designed for the strategic transport of military cargo and vehicles and are available for use as naval auxiliaries to the British armed forces when required.
