The show was hosted by Rock Radio's own Michelle Rugeroni. It was pretty cool of her to quote something GCS's Seamus Byrne said; "Do what makes you great! It it is not about the role or the title, it is about the goal and making a difference." As part of the entertainment, one of the first performers of the night was the young and always fantastic Chloe Martinez. She was accompanied by the YDS dancers and did a fine job. What always amazes me about Chloe is her versatility and her strength that her voice possesses. Overall a fantastic performance, one Chloe should be proud of.
Up next the contestants paraded around the stage in their activewear. The soundtrack of the parade was provided by local DJ Denis Alvarez aka El Deni. I must admit I am a huge El Deni fan and his power to electrify is a gift and does an amazing job. Continuing the entertainment was once again Chloe Martinez. From Rozalla, GALA, Robin S, Pink and other disco hits, it was the perfect recipe for what was coming up. It is safe to say that 90s disco music is still in fashion and it is always great when we reminisce and sing along to all these amazing and nostalgic tracks. The highlight? At the end. Watching the show's host Michelle Rugeroni dancing along to LMFAO's Party Rock Anthem.
PAYING TRIBUTE
It was very nice of YDS to pay tribute to Kaiane Aldorino Lopez. Hard to believe it has been almost ten years since she won Miss World, Kaiane is without a doubt a pioneer and a role model for young Gibraltarians.
RAFA BLAS
Whilst it was time for the contestants to parade in their evening wear, It was also time for one of the International acts to step onto the stage. First up was Rafa Blas who won The Voice Spain back in 2012. The rocker captivated the crowd singing an array of rock classics; most notably Highway To Hell by AC/DC, The Show Must Go On by Queen, Nothing Else Matters by Metallica and The Final Countdown by Europe.
SORAYA
The second international act of the night was Soraya. Soraya who was a part of the fourth edition of Operacion Truinfo and represented Spain at the Eurovision song contest in 2009 was a phenomenal addition to the show. She really got the crowd going with such tracks like the Rivers of Babylon by Boney M, YMCA by The Village People and others.
