International Holocaust Day commemorates the day in 1945 when the Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp was liberated by Allied forces at the end of the Second World War. It is a day when, irrespective of religious beliefs or race, people can raise awareness and reflect on what can happen when anti-semitism and racism are unchecked.
